Naza Blade 250gtr review

hola
ok review for naza blade? after almost a year? seriously. lulz
so, ok, why update now, because one day while i was checking my blog, some fella comment on my old post about my dream bike naza blade. that time, i was noob. he's mistaken the post as a review, but actually that entry is not a review, its my opinion about the bike. he said that there was no info or whatsoever on that and i should research more as an owner. that time, it was waayyy back before i have the bike. and i learned a lot then. ok, main point is i suddenly realised that i have not post any reviews about the bike. yes, there are one post about my first experience handling the bike but not much on details
so here it is.


overall


its a very big & heavy bike. in one glance, it looked like a 600cc or a litre bike
for some people who did not know much about bikes, they will surely thinks its a superbike.
when i was at the shop surveying the bike, blade put next to kawasaki zx10r, boy they looked the same size! and my father's reaction when i show point out that bike he was shocked and was like, besarnya! cari la moto kecik sikit! and he pointed to the cbr650f. lol



meter and handle
the meter is half analog(for rpm) and digital for speedometer, odometer & fuel gauge
i installed handle clip, a bit higher handle position(1 or 1 and half inches higher) for less aggressive riding position, although the reducing strain effect on back, waist and palm is minimal. it still hurt after a while, but better than nothing right? boleh la kurangkan sikit sakit tu. kalau nak lagi best pakai la handle naked, tapi buruk gila lah..
because of the handle clip, the maximum rotate of the handle can go will touch the windshield






tank
the tank is 17 litre. similar to 600-1000cc bike. normal for 250cc is around 15 litre. the tank design is okay i guess. not too fancy, and not too plain. just nice.i dont really know for sure the capacity, but i have tried, the maximum petrol i put in is 11 litres at 2 bar untill it almost spill out.  they said that it have reserve of approx 5 litres of petrol left when the fuel indicator at 1 bar and started to blink.
but still, dalam kalangan motor 250cc, blade la yang paling jarang refuel kalau ride jauh2.



seat
seat dia keras sikit. for both pillion and rider. i have not yet take on any pillion yet, nor i have seated on the pillion seat. but by feeling and pressing both the rider and pillion seat, its pretty much the same. orang pun mmg ckp seat dia keras sikit. the split seat design is very garang looking. under the pillion seat not much of a space. ada 2 lock, roadtax, sepana boleh laras yg kecik dan rantai(utk lock helmet) and thats it. oh dan dah ada bberapa kes seat stuck x boleh bukak sebab jamm dgn barang2 bawah tu/ (pernah terkena kt diri sendiri jugak. at first dah cuak gila & pasrah. thought of nk bwk ke kedai ja buka coverset. lepas ride dgn agressif kt atas jln xrata, last skali boleh bukak. hahaha...) dan ada jugak a few case seat belakang hilang. tertanggal waktu ride, sedar2 dah tak ada. lolz




foot rest
i was told that the foot rest can have 3 different setting. mine is at set at postion 2. just nice for my kind of position. not too lean front, and not too high up(usually for naked). tak pasti lah kan mcmana nak set. ada dlm manual, tp baca sepintas lalu aje.





brake
front have dual disc brake. as i tell you all bikes that are below 500cc (except ZX2R & NSR) only have single disc for front brake. thats why this bike looked like bigger cc bike. and puts some more weights too. the design of the disc just average looking, not fancy.






tyre
tyre is big, but standard for 250cc bike. original stock tyre is MRF. they said this brand not very good. its a standard for stock tyres to be like that. but at least its better than the previous one, shinko. i dont know because i have no other experience riding other bigbikes or knows about tyres. but for me when riding it i felt that the grip is not that good. especially during cornering.im not so good when it comes to handling the bike tbh. especially cornering & cilok2..
while taking corner it felt like as if its going to slide off and fall. idk. mybe its just me.





exhaust
standard exhaust is triangular in shape. sound soo noob. like sewing machine. need to change muffler. v twin engine sound nice la on aftermarket exhaust. im planning to get EJM because its really suitable for blade, good sound and most important of all, one of the cheapest around. luls



engine
v twin engine. got window to check engine oil. no radiator. its oil cooled. which means that it uses the engine oil to cool itself. the oil cooler is positioned as exact as radiator would be placed, but it have no fan.
thats why this bike have issues with plug cap. the heat form the engine is too great for the parts.
ada org advise utk balut plugcap dgn wiring tape utk bagi tahan panas. ada plan nak letak kipas satu.





headlamp signal & tail light
diamond headlight, its dim. tail light not too big, but not too small. just nice. i like the design.








handling
this bike is heavy. very.
for noob like me, i can just say what im feeling. i have no other experience riding other bike to compare to. so here it goes.
its so shiok ma... on highway. on jalan jamm on the other hand, nightmare. tabley cilok, and the engine gets hot fast if slow moving. its a very hot, bulky, heavy bike.
cornering is scary.. i dont know the technique. i have ride for almost a year, yet i still dont know how to corner properly. during cornering i maintained 60kmh or sometimes below(lolz)


so there ya have it... if you want to ask or share anything, dont be shy ok?

  1. Well and honestly written young man. I am a 57 year old man riding the same machine. Got mine about the same time as yours (1st week January 2014). I have done 18000km + so far and love the bike. I do my own servicing (since 10000km - end of warranty) and average 80km per day (travel from home to work). Can't say the bike is perfect but what can we expect for the price. It's still very good value for money provided we do the routine maintenance. Once again well done young man.

      ke wap air(macam asap) keluar ikut bawah handle waktu ride waktu hujan? yg tu normal. air hujan terkena enjin dan oil cooler.

      jejak tanah tapi jengkek2..
      kena letak sebelah kaki baru boleh flat foot..
      nak keluar parking, mmg kena turun dari motor, tak akan larat punya nak tolak dgn kaki buat mcm moto cub.
      Nak naik motor ni mmg kena pakai kasut tapak tebal yg grip...

  3. Just bought it (250R secondhand) 2 weeks ago and what I can say is, this is an absolutely fantastic and cheap bike for newbie like me. I'm travelling twice a week from Pandan to Cyberjaya and my average speed is between 120-130 KM/h. 80 KM/h when cornering shouldn't be an issue provided you adjust the tyre pressure according to your own weight. Yes, it's bit heavy but you will get use of it after your 3rd ride (Abg sado). Indeed, routine maintenance is a must and don't always over run the engine unless you plan to replace the battery, rectifier or even worse, the coil :) anytime soon.

    1. yeah, this machine aint no glory, but it does the job pretty decently.
      like every other bike, maintenance and how one handle the bike is the key. the rest is luck.

    1. personally saya pun masih fail bab cornering, walaupun dah guna lebih setahun setengah. saya pun mengalami situasi yg sama. amek korner rasa mcm nak jatuh. ramai yg ckp mcmtu. mostly utk blade 250 mono lembut berayun ayun. goyang inul org sebut. haha
      tapi korner goyang ni sgt bnyk faktor.
      tyre pressure, mono, fork, balancing, jenis tayar, bunga tayar, bearing etc.
      tak pasti berapa speed yg okey tapi saya selalunya korner ambil dalam 50-60kmh depend on kondisi jalan, kelebaran jalan, oneway/two way, dan ketajaman selekoh.
      takpa slow2 belajar. cornering ni ada teknik dia. bukan boleh main ikut sedap. bahaya. tips dia, turunkan gear yg sesuai, kalao boleh gear rendah, masa approach tu slow, dan maintain speed or speed up waktu di korner. break tu kalo boleh jgn kacau, throttle dan klac tu kawal selembut yg boleh waktu ambil korner tu. badan follow je senget ikut motor, buka kita yg turunkan badan, bahaya kalau tak pandai.
      bnykkn baca tips, dan tgk video.
      plg bagus kalau boleh minta tunjuk ajar dari otai. =)

    1. Naza Blade is getting better since then.
      Not really much of an issue. like i said before, you get what you pay for. for 16k bike compared to 21k bike on same 250cc class.
      There are no perfect bike that had never had problem. different bike, different problem.
      but naza blade have a tendency to have such minor problem such as plugcap, clutch cable, throttle cable, relay etc. nothing that cant be solved.

      ada setiap 2k km, ada 2.5k, ada 3k.
      minyak enjin pakai la apa2 yg ok. semi or full.
      shell rimula boleh, petronas boleh, motul, m7, silkolene, elf etc..
      10-40 boleh, 10,50, 15-50 pun boleh ikut function.. bleh tanya pomen utk info lagi lanjut
      utk 250,
      utk minyak semi sintetik sebotol dlm RM30 mcmtu, kalo full dlm rm45 mcmtu pakai 1.5-1.8l so kena beli 2 botol, kalao semi dlm rm60, full rm90... oil filter kalo boleh tukar setiap kali dlm rm13 mcmtu...
      kalau boleh pegi kedai yg mmg biasa buat naza blade.

    2. Engine yang cepat panas ni biasanya kene guna yg besar sikit range dia. cari 15-50w. mmg susah nk cari 15-50w yang ade rate SM keatas. kebanyak rate API utk 15-50w ni SF-SL. Sbb minyak ni mmg buat untuk motor besar yang tiada liquid-cool. guna minyak ni, lambat sikit tersejat. aku x pernah guna blade 250 ni, tp motor lama yang banyak kes piston jam sebab guna sintetik yang nipis dan cepat tersejat, contohnya api sm 10-40w / 10-30w.

    1. mungkin akan ada masalah bila nak tolak wakt ukeluar/masuk parking, sebab berat. tapi dengan senaman utk kuatkan core badan dan muscle2 lain boleh. dinasihatkan utk sentiasa pakai kasut bila ride, walaupun dekat dan sekejap.

  11. Honest review bro.. I got the naked se.. So far i have never regretted my decision to take naza blade instead of z250.. My bike is a year and a half old.. I finally got it on how to tackle corners with this bike after 8 month.. Now i have been cornering whenever there's a chance.. Its very stable once you got the tyre right..

  12. Bro, I was planning to take 1. Please write a blog dedicated for Blade 250. From the regular service thing, to the weakness of the bike tht need to be fix on new user. I heard that naza blade easily spoil the rectfier or, plug cap.

    1. boleh je pakai. blade ni value for money. what get what you pay for. berbaloi dgn harga.
      tapi semua moto pun ada isu, masalah dan penyakit tersendiri. tak ada moto yg perfect. cuma blade ni dia rare sikit walaupun dah bertapak lama kat malaysia ni sejak 2004 lagi xsilap...
      tanya je owner ramai yg sgt berpuas hati dgn moto ni. biasa la mulut org tu bnyk negatif ja. mcm proton, dah jadi stereotype. padahal ok je, ada improvement. nak pakai boleh tapi kena tgk poket mampu ke tidak nak sara moto ni. tu je. sbb moto ni murah jadi ramai yg beli, tapi xmampu nak sara sbb dari segi penjagaan sama je dgn moto 250 yg lain. makan duit. kalau nak pakai pakai je. tapi kalo poket tebal dan taknak pening2 beli brand lain yg lebih mahal & berkualiti sikit.

      tanya apa yg bukan standard (mufler, meter, rectifier etc)
      tanya apa yg dah buat (remap/top/vc)
      roadtax bila mati. berapa harga
      check tayar, minyak level minyak hitam,
      check no enjin & no chasis sama tak dgn geran. (penting)

  18. For cornering, we should practice/learn the "counter steering theory for motorcycle". Practice in average speed/cornering. You will able to do sharp cornering.(Not save in road traffic_ but for emergency this knowledge save life)

    1. perkara normal for blade. hampir majority lalui perkara yg sama
      adjust cable clutch. atas & bawah..
      and use suitable EO. for me elf 10w40 is the best. ringan, enjin smooth, tak panas sgt & senang free gear.

      lagi 1 tips, try to free gear sebelum betul2 stop. means that, masa bwak, waktu tgh brake & slow down tu, biar moto tu bergerak sikit sebelum complete stop, then cuba free gear waktu tgh gerak slow tu...

    1. Two Brother Racing. beza dia dari segi ekzos, stiker. Performance maybe lebih power sikit, laju sikit, makan minyak sikit, sbb ECU mapping lain sikit.

    1. Tak pernah test. Org kata dpt la dlm 170-180kmh
      kerosakan tu tak bnyk sgt. sbb jarang guna. mileage pun berapa je. so far yg pernah rosak, throttle cable. tu je.

      cuma diorg tak bnyk parts je

      boleh je cari under 7k.
      kalau naked bawah 6k pun ada...
      tapi peant sikit la nak cari. dna lokasi tu mmg tak tentu kat mana, mungkin jauh...

  34. bang,sy nk tanya,beli naza blade 250 2nd hand 30,000km baik x utk kegunaan harian 60km? ada banyak masalah tak masa mileage tinggi?

    1. In shaa Allah tak ada masalah..
      tapi dah mileage 30k km tu standby dlm 1.5k-2k just in case nak kena ganti apa2..
      30k km tu takda la tggi mana, tapi manalha thau, nasib tak baik, tak ada rezeki, benda nak rosak.

      Of course lagi tinggi mileage probability parts rosak, bermasalah, atau tak perform dan kena tukar tu ada.
      Mana2 motor pun macamtu.

      daily ride yg agak jauh tu, apa2 standby barang2 penting just in case.

  35. Salam, Sya nak tanya blade 650 dengan 11k mailage keluaran 2015, berbaloi ka dgn harga 11k..
    Rodtax mati baru 3bulan, sensor stand sudah potong, sensor klac dah potong klu x silap..

      atau mungkin sensor tongkat..
      tapi tak pasti sama ada model carb 2008 ada sensor tongkat atau tak..

  39. Hi 👋 i aslo planning to Buy secondhand NAZA Blade 250. Can anyone suggest about that Naza Blade how it in Maintainance? How much costing for when we service , how much roadtax cost ? Insurance cost? Main thing what’s about plug short? Very fast engine become hot ? If become hot than how to settle it ? Can get easily available spare part in market ?Bcos I drive bike until BAJAJ PUlSAR F 220 cc . So this my first experience planning in NAZA Blade 250. I am waiting for your reply

      walaupun agak rendah tu
      moto ni agak tinggi dan berat..

      just make sure pakai kasut yg tapak tebal dan grip waktu ride
      dan buat senaman kaki dan belakang utk kuatkan otot dan tulang, supaya mudah nak tolak keluar dan masuk moto waktu parking...
